On September 22, 2011, CGMA received a generous legacy gift of $124,523 from the estate of Commander Christina M. Hosking, USCGR. Her sister Ms. Thea Fournier recently visited CGMA Headquarters to present the check. She relayed that Commander Hosking took particular pleasure in her service with the Coast Guard Reserve and wanted to ensure a large portion of her estate went to help others within the Coast Guard family. CDR Hosking had served with Coast Guard Reserve units in the New England area and was at one time Commanding Officer of Reserve Unit Marine Safety Office, Boston. Known for her sense of adventure and fearless attitude, the ever active CDR Hosking's gift will provide critical assistance for the community of service members she was so proud to serve alongside.
