Coast Guard Mutual Assistance is excited to announce our new Adoption Grant.
For adoption expenses incurred on or after January 1, 2012, the CGMA Adoption Grant program will provide up to $1000 per client for the home study expense directly related to the legal adoption of a child. This Adoption Grant is available to all CGMA clients.
All requests for an Adoption Grant are to be made using the Application for Assistance (CGMA Form 5) in addition requests for Adoption Grants, regardless of amount, must:
- Be forwarded to CGMA-HQ for review and decision by the Executive Director
- Include a signed copy of the home study and proof of payment (e.g. receipt or canceled check)
Specific application information will be included in the next change to the CGMA Manual.
Clients may be eligible for additional assistance (loan) under the Adoption Assistance program.
